Storm damage?
We handle the roof and the claim.

Hail, wind, and hurricanes don't just damage roofs in Mississippi and Louisiana — they kick off a confusing insurance process. C.F. Life walks it with you from the first inspection to the final shingle.

After the storm

What to do in the first 48 hours

Quick, calm steps protect your home and your claim. We can help with every one of them.

Stay safe

Don't climb up. Note any leaks, ceiling stains, or fallen debris from the ground.

Document it

Photograph damage and keep receipts. We provide a full photo report too.

Stop the damage

We provide emergency tarping so a small leak doesn't become a ruined ceiling.

Free inspection, documented for your carrier — before you call the insurance company.

The claim process

How a roof insurance claim actually works

Most homeowners only do this once. We've done it many times — and we work with your insurance company so the scope is right and the payout is fair.

  • 1. Free inspection & photo report

We confirm whether there's claimable storm damage — no pressure if there isn't.

  • 2. You file the claim

We hand you documentation built to submit straight to your carrier.

  • 3. We work with your insurance company

We document the damage thoroughly so nothing is missed, minimized, or underpaid.

  • 4. Approved scope & install

We install with Class 3 impact shingles, then finalize the RCV with your carrier.

Why it matters

RCV vs. ACV — the difference is your wallet

A depreciated payout can leave you thousands short. The right materials and documentation protect a true replacement-cost settlement.

Class 3 impact shingles

Rated against hail impact — better protection and stronger standing with insurers.

Carrier-ready documentation

A clear, photo-backed scope that's hard for an adjuster to underpay.

We're on your side

We work for you, the homeowner — not the insurance company.

Common questions

Storm & insurance FAQ

Will filing a claim raise my rates?

A single storm/weather claim is generally treated differently than an at-fault claim, and weather events often affect a whole area rather than one policyholder. We can't give insurance advice, but we'll help you understand your options before you file — and there's no obligation after a free inspection.

What about my deductible?

On a covered claim you're typically responsible for your deductible while your policy covers the approved replacement cost. We'll walk through the numbers with you up front so there are no surprises.

How do I know if my roof actually has storm damage?

That's exactly what the free inspection is for. We document what we find with photos — and if there's no claimable damage, we'll tell you that honestly.

Do you do emergency tarping?

Yes. If your roof is open after a storm, we can get a tarp on it to stop interior damage while the claim moves forward.

How long do I have to file after a storm?

Policies have time limits, so don't wait. The sooner we inspect and document, the cleaner the claim. Call us as soon as it's safe.
